Birth Month - Day 16

I keep going through all the photos I have of Andrew and find myself smiling and crying simultaneously.  I come across some pictures and I am instantly transported to the memory it captured.  Others are sad as I become aware he will not realize some of his dreams or goals.  Still others are from his friends that they posted on facebook.  I didn't know all of his friends, but I did know a few from the stories he would tell or the constant requests to go hang out with them.  While I am certain I have not included them all, I wanted to give shout outs to Lily, Mouna, Gabriel, and Brandon.  These are the ones he mentioned to me the most, although he had many others from high school, church, and various sports.  I hope you all know how much you meant to Andrew.  Thank you for being his friend and loving him!

  1. Andrew went sooner than anyone could have imagined. I shared many many classes, rode the same bus, and shared many close mutual friends. The greatest thing that Andrew did was be himself. He never altered his personality to fit with people and was never dishonest about himself or his ideas. He was a "this is what I am, take it or leave it" kind of guy and I'm honored to be in some of these pictures above. My favorite time with Andrew was on the bus where we brought a parachute army man and fishing line. We tied up our poor soldier and Andrew tossed him out the window to set up our kite with a passenger. He didn't fly well but occasionally Andrew would get a good tug and the army man would bounce and hit the top of the bus. We were having a great time laughing to the point of tears until the car behind us flickered blue lights; IT WAS AN UNDERCOVER OFFICER. I've never seen someone cut fishing line as fast as Andrew did and as soon as the evidence was cut short he ran to the front of the bus and soon after all 12 of us in the back followed suit. Hands down the most fun and interesting rides home from a long day at school. Andrew was a guy who hated dull moments and would do anything for the happiness and enjoyment of others. I hope he's somewhere giving people the same happiness he gave to us during his time on Earth. Rest in Peace.
